October 24, 2018 - Opaque dark purple with a lavender rim. Deep blue berry nose. Dry with some tart, slightly bitter cane tannins, bold fruit and body. This is a big wine and I can see the value as a blending grape to give heft to some merlot in a BDX. Starting to mellow on the second night and come into balance, this commands to be pared with a big steak, lamb or duck.

October 6, 2018 - Drank this with non-geeks at a 30th anniversary party. Dark color. Has the weight of a pinot noir. I liked the wine. My daughter Really enjoyed this bottle. I'll save my last bottle for a couple of years to see how it progresses. FYI, this was the first bottle to empty. As a matter of fact, it was the only bottle to empty.

December 15, 2015 - Planned to keep this bottle, but wanted a good enjoyable wine in the middle of the week. Two people, one meal, 50%p plus gone. More on the fruity/somewhat sweeter side, but somewhat more balanced than I recall few months ago. Very dark purple Ruby. Given the concentrated nature of the grapes, not a major surprise. I know it needs more time (for that reason, the remaining is kept for today), but it is enjoyable drinking right now. Great PV wine, and great preview of the good #beserkersday deals.
91+.

April 29, 2015 - We opened it to have a glass (to share) and we ended up finishing about 40% of the bottle. Dark purple, more on the fruity/somewhat sweeter side, I would said. No surprise, given the concentrated nature of the grapes. I agree with the note from last week- the wine needs more time, and it took good 2 hours or so before it started showing abit more 'spice'. Very refreshing to have such a wonderful PV wine, at such fair price! good #beserkersday catch
I think Beau will be proud of this wine for years to come. Good work.
Summary: Actions speak louder than words. 40+ percent of a bottle between two light weighted? We are certain it would taste even better tonight
Overall 90-91, and good qpr1 person found this helpful Comment -

April 23, 2015 - Initially a bit muted, the wine opens with air time to reveal aromas of dark black fruits, thyme, and fresh tarragon.
Like a warm thick blanket, the wine coats the palate delivering on the aromatic promise.
Med-full bodied with moderate acid, I appreciate the wine's reserved delivery. Over the course of a few hours the wine opens further, adding a spicy pepper component and it was just beginning to show a little alcoholic heat on the finish at the tail end of the evening.
As a fan of what PV can do on its own, I really appreciate the view of the grape that this bottle affords.1 person found this helpful Comment
