February 1, 2023 - 2011 was obviously better in Washington vs Napa. Laid back but classy and balanced. Surprisingly fresh. Excellent QPR.
April 23, 2021 - pleasant, softer, would drink vs hold
May 11, 2019 - Nice Bordeaux.blend, big wine that went well with sharp cheese plate...
October 24, 2018 - Cherries
February 4, 2018 - Filtered into decanter for 1 hour. Huge amount of sediment. Cherry, spice, chocolate and vanilla on palate. Silky and not jammy. Fresh with nice acidity. Great QPR.
October 18, 2017 - This is one of the rare ones that actually benefited from a run through Venturi. Somehow the forced aeration really helped to cut through the cobbler-esque fruit that saturated the palate last month.
September 10, 2017 - Big saturated fruit with an overt jammyness. Some coffee nuances on the back palate. Not much interesting but for the price, a solid wine for those liking this style.
March 13, 2017 - 2011 Fall Line Single Vineyard Horizontal Tasting (The Lovenest, Seattle, WA): Did a horizontal tasting of the 2011 Fall Line Boushey, Artz, and Red Willow Vineyard Red Wines, the Boushey felt like it had the most oak influence jumping right out but otherwise showing balance. Not the most exciting of the three out of the gate, but maybe the most enjoyable after a glass or two. Black fruits and smoky vanilla on the nose and plate, just a hint of fine grained tannin and some fresh acidity keep it from feeling too heavy. There is a roundness on the palate we initially took as a lack of sophistication but it made the wine seem more enjoyable as the night went on.
March 12, 2017 - Lovely, sweet medium bodied Bordeaux blend. Currant and dark cherry fruit, nicely fragranced with some complexity. Nicely nuanced palate with good length and a really tasty finish. Excellent for the money.
Held up very well on day 2 and was very nice to have a glass without food. No hard edges and soft tannins. Very tasty. Still same 91 score.
March 10, 2017 - Really nice, but you've gotta be in the mood for this one. Deep, rich and heavy, almost like it sticks to your esophagus. Really nice and flavorful, but very strong wine.
