March 23, 2019 - Drinks very well, especially with a brief decanting. Plenty of energy, good acidity, red berry notes, some great minerality, and not too much ripeness, with a fairly long finish and interesting tertiary notes after several hours of decanting. This is exceptionally good for a Napa Cab. Yummy juice.

January 13, 2019 - Pyrazine, bell pepper, under-ripe fruit, hallmark of a 2011, but not in an offensive way. This had a solid red fruit profile, good mouth feel and decent finish, just not the extracted skyscraper Napa cab, which on this day was perfectly fine with me. Paired with a fatty, juicy roast duck which elevated the wine to another level. Enjoyable by itself, even better with food.

January 6, 2019 - Nose of black cherry, black berry, bell pepper, and plum, same on the
palate, big body, tasty, mouth filling richness, lovely tasting fruit, slightly brooding fruit, wish I had more of this wine for $52, at its peak, worth looking for, and a long finish. Picture uploaded.

December 25, 2018 - Last of my half case. Has been exactly a year since the last bottle. Looking back at those notes, we had high expectations but this bottle seemed muted and tame by comparison. Much closer to other reviews than what we had last Christmas.

December 24, 2018 - Has 2011 written all over it, with somewhat offputting unripe greenness (as opposed to the fresh greeness I associate with cab franc) a thinness to the body, and some green and thorny tannins... yet showing heat. It’s not all bad though, nice black currant and black pepper, graphite and a certain understated elegance to the fruit and structure, especially after 4 hours. Probably better in 5 years when the tannins have relaxed their grip but still not one that I’d be salivating for.
