October 31, 2021 - light+ tawny to the broad orange rim, the wine shows a lovely evolution with savoury, umami qualities: tar, caramel, polished leather, spiced red berries, smoke, hint of rusty nails and black toffee—a deep, complex bouquet.
A light to medium-bodied wine with dry puckering tannins sated by a sweet toffee edge and opening up to flavours of miso soup, spice, tobacco, liquorice and leather polish. A crisp acidity underpins the wine, giving it a delicacy. As the wine opens further in decanter, this moved to a soy note like an aged balsamic or Oloroso sherry with wet raisins and spices. Complex, smart.
December 24, 2020 - Fantastic, and could get better...there’s still a good core of tannins, ample fruit, and just a little VA. What an incredible bargain this turned out to be.
