September 14, 2019 - Decanted for 6 hours. Deep ruby. Superbly complex aromas with predominant tobacco, anise, and fennel later joined by thyme. Fairly dense, tarry, subtly sweet dark cherry fruit with bright acidity. Increasingly spicy. Serious tannins which become more chocolaty and grippy over time. Tremendous bottle but the fruit is more subdued than the last time I tasted it, and by the time we finished, it had clenched down significantly. Revisit in 2040 when it should be approaching maturity.

June 19, 2019 - WOW this is one of the best rather young Barolos I had so far. Found this in Milano for less than 130€.
The bouquet is a fascinating blend of sour cherries, mint, roses, apricot and some remote truffles (just wait).
It’s so long and intense, one should wait at least another 2-5 years and enjoy it over the next 2-3 decades. I’m happy to have 6 more bottles which I bought at the cantina 4 1/2 years ago.

April 14, 2019 - Comparative Tasting of B. Mascarello Barolo and G. Mascarello Barolo Monprivato (Dig Wines, San Francisco): Beautiful aromas of spice and red fruit with early secondary perfume. Gorgeous balance and poise, spherical feel, great acidity, a consistent vein of soil, uplifting citric note, and a roundly tannic finish that gives it outstanding grip at the end. Long, gently fading finish laced with soil. My favorite wine of the entire tasting. Both powerful and refined, and just beginning to display its incipient complexity. Its superb balance is such that it should impress at every point of its long evolution. A treat to taste, and I have had this reaction every time.

March 31, 2019 - 97+. You need to drink this alone, over 3 days, but better do so from 2022. The bouquet is floral, fruity, mineral, savory (starting 2nd day) and sweetly spicy. It ripples gently yet surely on one's palate, w/ effortless concentration, finishes long and gentle. no hurry. Great wine indeed.

Well the wine could be shut downhe wine should be shut down now as fellow cellartrackers mentioned. But in preparation for this tasting, I took the bottle from wine chamber last september and it sit thru winter heating with me, so it should be softer than your normal bottle.

Also, my comlaint besides the fact that i didn't grab more bottles when it's available twice as "cheap“ as today : the cork is way too short! The wine can live 50 years for sure, most not likely the same for the cork.

December 28, 2018 - Amazing as always. Deep color, incredibly aromatic nose. Very fine and elegant. Red fruit, tea, flowers, subtle spice. Very long finish. So complex and rich. Just a stunner. Buy buy buy.
