December 4, 2021 - Sixteenth Annual White Truffle Dinner (Inovasi - Lake Bluff IL): Flight of Charmes-Chambertin across 4 decades. An absolute beauty. Mature black fruit with mushroom hints, roasted meat and woodsy spice. Both powerful and incredibly graceful, this has finally reached that great place where wines from structured vintages can gradually reach. Beautiful!

August 6, 2021 - A deep, concentrated Burgundy drinking quite young with dark fruit and excellent spicy intensity on the finish. Really fine and even mysterious although it couldn't match its '99 counterpart which was a more complete wine.

October 22, 2016 - medium red with clear edges, delicate dark cherry aroma, a bit of grassiness, very smooth on palate, subtle cherry fruit, some spice, lingering fruit finish. Very enjoyable well aged burgundy. Would have liked to enjoyed it in a quiet space with no distractions.

January 31, 2016 - Still has a good ruby color. There is a subtle nose of dark cherry and spices. Quite finely textured with a beautiful elegance but also nice succulent acidity to give it some grip. Lacy flavors of medicinal cherry and a hint of barnyard lead to a finely complex finish that really activates the front tip of the tongue. I love the length and intensity on the finish in a subtle, nuanced style. Old school red Burgundy that is finding it's footing now and should continue to age well.
