August 15, 2020 - Opened for about 45 minutes. From Magnum. Color is dark garnet with an orange rim. The nose is Rose and violets florals, plum and cherry fruit. On the palate: Still a bit closed (should have opened earlier) but what I taste is Plum and sour cherry. The wine is silky smooth in the mouth. I expect over the next few hours it will be more expressive.

July 18, 2020 - Light medium garnet color turning orange rust at the rim with a transparent edge. The legs show high viscosity which should be consistent with the vintage, and confirmed by the label at 14%. The nose gives off ethereal aromas of dried black and red fruits along with seared meat, mushrooms, and saddle leather. The palate has a sublime mouthfeel with silky tannins and lively acidity that brings out ripe blackberry, raspberry, and cherry notes followed by black olives, tobacco and tea leaves. A gorgeous effort from this producer, and perhaps the best I’ve had from them. Finishes long and fleshy with ultra fine, dusty tannins and hints of eucalyptus menthol. Best to decant as there are plenty of sediments. Drink now with a 40-minute decant or better in 2021 to 2035.

    October 14, 2019 - Pale ruby color.

I had decanted it for an hour and then filled the bottle back for a dinner that night. However we couldn’t have the bottle the same day and had it the next day. Given that bottle was shoulder full, it shouldn’t have made a big difference.

I thought the nose was a little too herbal/ green for me. The tannins were still high.

I have enjoyed some other Brovia’s more.

    April 3, 2019 - Pale ruby
Med plus aromas intensity of fresh red cherries, red plums, cranberries, earth, oak vanilla, light spice. Still developing.
Dry, med+ acidity, high tannnins, high abv 14%, med+ body, med+ flavors intensity consistent with the aromas. Long finish. Outstanding.
Can drink now - better age 5-10 years more to reach optimal drinking period.

July 3, 2017 - Had with the 2012 Rocche and the 2010 Villero. This was the favorite. More rich, black fruited and elegant than the Villero. More rich and complex than the 2012 Rocche. Deep rich black fruit, mint, tea, forest, and a springy freshness.
