November 14, 2021 - Paired very well with short ribs and polenta. Great bottle that felt like it was drinking quite well at this stage.

February 15, 2019 - Barolo Ginestra: Drank out of the one liter club bottle. It’s always fascinating, how easy in a blind tasting you can identify the Spinetta Barolos.
Bouquet of blueberries, coconut and some almonds.
The palate is probably not as powerful as expected from a 2010 Barolo, tannins were quite in Check and the overall balance is excellent.

April 8, 2018 - Still far too young but with a few hours air shows its potential. Lighter than past vintages, in a good way, oak is not nearly as prevalent. Rose, tar, leather, all that you would expect. Gripping tannins. Look forward to trying this in 5 years.

March 31, 2015 - Barolo 2010 & 2001 (chez moi): amazingly light; somewhat green, slightly harbal nose nose - taste is better, fuller, the tannins are a bit aggressive and still green. Somewhat better on day 2,m this needs time to come around. 91+

March 27, 2015 - Contratto / La Spinetta Visit (Canelli, Italy): Dull purple core with lighter reddish violet rim, some clarity; intensely perfumed, sweet meaty dark cherry, polish, dried herbs; tannins are slightly broader and more noble, dark cherry, slight orange oil, great balance; very good.

February 7, 2015 - 2010 Barolo at La Festa del Barolo (Four Seasons Restaurant, NYC): Giorgio Rivetti says he bought the vineyard in 2000. It has old vines and is in the commune of Grinzane Cavour. Nose of chocolate and black fruit. Gunky in the mouth. Overwhelmed by new oak. NR
