February 26, 2022 - Decanted, light sediment. Color still fairly light red. Dried fruits and a little moss. A good pop and pour. Still drinking well.
December 24, 2021 - Decanted. No sediment. Color was lighter than expected, not a lot on the nose. Taste of dried fruit, a little earth. Needs about an hour to open up.
December 5, 2021 - This bottle has improved since my last about 3 years ago. Still very structured and overall powerful for what would otherwise be a more humble bottling. Barbaresco experience at a nice discount.
November 17, 2021 - Let me state up front - this is a very well made wine. I don't especially like it. Nose big, powerful, a tad hot. Stewed cherries, plum, pepper, volatile hints, some floral hints, vanilla Palate more balanced than I expected, but a tad flat and hot, mdoerately complex, big, and clean, and well made - in a very modern way. This is the hotter, oaky, ripe, fruit driven take on Nebbiolo I am just not that fond of. But they did a superb job with this style. So, respect, but not like.
November 28, 2019 - From 3L. Could have used a few more years, but decanted and it opened up over the course of the evening. Solid neb.
April 10, 2019 - Weak sauce, but a solid move as a wind-down after two Barolos.
July 20, 2018 - A very elegant Nebbiolo, this showed pretty typical characteristics and was a great bottle to bring to a local southern Italian BYO.
July 11, 2018 - 90-91. Opened an hour before, no decant, decided to chill slightly (hot day here). This is a Nebbiolo that hits pretty (floral) notes on the nose and solid, mid-weight, mildly grippy notes on the palate -- I'd say it could easily pass for a good-not-great, entry-level Barolo. The average score here seems wildly depressed to me; I'd quite self-satisfiedly buy more of this at $24.
November 13, 2017 - Opened 2 bottles. There was a noticeable variation between them. One bottle, a more floral nose. The other bottle, more pungent and earthy. Hard to know what to expect.
May 12, 2016 - This one disappointed me unfortunately. Picked up of couple of bottles following a tasting a while back as it came across as charming despite some rough tannins. This time around it was even more rough. In fact, it required 5 hours (!) before it came around. Ok fruit on the nose in the end but no knockout.
