March 16, 2024 - Part 1 Produttori del Barbaresco 2009 horizontal. Aired for a few hours in bottle prior. Drank in Conterno Sensory.
Appearance is clear, medium intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of fragrant red pomegranate, red cherries, ripe red plum. Developing.
On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium+ alcohol (!4.5%), high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of ripe red cherries, ripe red plum, fresh earth. Long grippy finish.
Good quality. Quite staight-forward, and pretty much the same on day 2. Ripe plummy fruit. Probably not really going anywhere with much more age for this plot in this vintage.
Update: Amazingly still drinking ok after a few days. Sour red cherries and emergence of savoury tar earth.

February 24, 2024 - Loads of cherries, roses, leather. Tannins on the sandy side but still feisty. Fruit intense, medium++ length. Quite sedimented, seems somewhat past its prime. Drink up I’d say.

May 10, 2023 - The nose is singing on pop ‘n pour: tart plum, cherry nibs, cocoa and leather. Still has some potent, rustic tannins, but the aromas and flavors are out of hibernation. Tannins are softer on day 2. I would recommend a 4-6 hour decant if you want to open this and consume it on the same day.

November 30, 2022 - Opened for an hour prior to drinking on Wednesday - dark red fruit on the nose. The palate was dark cherry, a little cassis and wood. The finish was moderate. Drank half the bottle put the cork back in and put in the fridge. Opened again last night and it was bad, and I had to pour it down the sink. The rating is for the first night.
