April 23, 2020 - Hint av maling, litt te, lakris. I munnen noe rips, litt tynn frukt, men likevel intens først i munnen. Litt bitter i ettersmaken. Åpner seg veldig med luft - blir rundere og får fine sekundæraromaer som jord og sopp.
Dag 2 er den enda beste. Silkemyk og rund, med rik varm fruk. BItterheten i ettersmaken er så godt som borte, skjønt det er igjen et lite snev av plomme. Delikate anistoner. Virker ikke som det er noen hast med Barolo 2010.
March 28, 2020 - Moderately expressive and complex aromatics of cherries, strawberries, roses, tar, nuts and mushrooms, followed by fresh, round and juicy taste with very good acidity, intensity and pretty outspoken structure. Let this breathe for two hours or decant before serving. Will probably get more expressive in a few years. Very nice.
February 15, 2020 - Beautiful wine. Decanted for ~2 hours, which was perfect. Drank over 4 hours. Nose was classic barolo and became more complex over course of evening. Medium tannins. Was still singing at end of night. Likely to improve and a long life ahead, but very enjoyable now.
January 11, 2020 - Red with brown hues, pleasant notes of cherry, flower bed and dried orange on the nose, great balance and clarity, medium body, ethreal quality, flavors of liquified mineral, leather, dried cherry and blackberry, tart, begs for a plate of salumi, food friendly, still very young and looking like one that could cruise in the cellar for another 2 decades
November 27, 2019 - Very pretty nose of cherry, raspberry, rose, herbs, hint of alcoholic heat. Mor red fruit on the palate, with moderate weight, great balance and medium+ length or better. A lovely Barolo, with light-medium tannins that point to a long pleasant life ahead. 91 now, but possibly conservative.
January 18, 2019 - Shifting aromas of fennel, black pepper, sour plums, and orange rind. Crystalline dark fruit on the palate with bright acid facets and a rich base of chocolate tannin, with a growing clear sweetness on the long finish. Tremendous precision of strong delineated elements. Delicious with breaded garlic parsley shrimp and buttered broccoli. 50 + 17 + 17 + 9 = 93.
December 28, 2018 - Gorgeous, definite buy. Light and elegant, showing well. Light, dusty tannins that tug, not rip. Cherry fruit, flowers, black tea, pleasantly bitter finish. Love it.
December 2, 2018 - Some more Sunday wines (Chicago, IL): Brilliant, old-school nebbiolo. Immediately a very generous nose, with lovely red fruit and a beautiful perfume. The palate lives up to the promise, with that same sort of elegance. It's not a flashy, overt wine, but there is a delicacy and demure sort of beauty here that I really enjoy.
May 13, 2018 - its ok. But for a 2010 Barolo - a strong year. -I would expect more. The wine is a bit flat.
March 10, 2018 - Roses, strawberries and a touch of smoke with firm structure.
