Community Tasting Notes 5

January 4, 2021 - Been thru many bottles and overall found this wine to be very pleasant, holding on to it’s intense fruit and firm almost dry tannins. It will last and improve swimmingly to it 15 or 20 anniversary.

March 7, 2015 - Prince - Affordable Nebbiolo tasting (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street): The nose is very slightly oxidised with additional aromas of biscuit and toast, rose, plum and slightly tarry notes. In the mouth the wine is juicy with plum and slight orange flavours. Medium plus intensity drying talc textured tannin. Preposterously long and superb.

November 23, 2014 - Medium body, bright ruby red color, aromatic, fresh red berries, flowers and vanilla aroma, cherry, strawberry, sweet wood notes on the palate, cherry on finish, very long finish, powerful and rich, well structured, balanced and complex, fresh berries acidity, high tannins, food friendly. Well associates with bread and cheeses. Serve 16º - 20º. Open one hour in advance. Very tannic now. Cellar it two years, and drink up to 2019.

October 6, 2014 - AiS Arezzo (Arezzo): Nice ruby red.
Very rich nose, vanilla, red fruits (cherries above all) and then spices like black pepper.
Coherent at taste, rich, rounded, and alcoholic, almost peppery.
    with sweet Woody tannins.

February 18, 2014 - Apparently this could be classified as Barolo but they don't release it as such. So is it the young vines or what? Actually they are 45 to 50 year old vines. And its pretty high powered fruit with lots of tannins.

Ok so under pressure I am being told that this is actually Barolo but just "an opportunity to get some cash flowing back into the winery". Meaning that the winery supports a lower price tag but yet this is the same thing.

And actually, that tastes like great Barolo. Structured, but yet refined tannins, sweet tannins at that.
