December 25, 2019 - A really gorgeous BM. Nose exhibited some wilted rose, wild flowers, dark fruit, iron and dates. Palate was structured, expressive and powerful with resolved tannins and lovely sweetness. I thought it was a 98 Bonnes Mares when it was served blind. A wonderful BM from Vogue’s typical dark age. 93-94

March 2, 2019 - Wow - even in this "lesser" vintage, the majestical Bonnes Mares showed it true power.

First off, the nose had to settle. Some noted of VA was present and ofc., I was concerned. However, letting it breath for 30 air the VA evaporated and fruit came back to life giving us those perfectly big juicy summer red strawberries, fat plummy cherries. The oak was big and bald and the Autumn notes of dry leaves and mustiness was all there. Big wine.

the palate showed up as well. More fat and meat was present than usual. The tannins had still some grip, eventhough not as tight, but giving the wine that needed structure. THis was a wonderful wine.

Drink now or hold for 2 years. This is to be fully critical past its peak, however still really enjoyful!

July 3, 2018 - In a really nice spot right now. Nice spice and earth and bright cherry aromas. A little savory. Nicely resolved and no danger of decline.

January 24, 2015 - Decanted to remove sediment ? modest bricking, light fruits, hints of mushroom and forest floor. Time to drink for those with remaining bottles.

December 12, 2011 - absolutely phenomenal aged burgundian nose. very fine tannins in the mouth with a great mouth feel. would agree that this wine is a major accomplishment in the context of the vintage.
