January 17, 2020 - By the bottle at Monarch in Montreal. It will reward some time to breathe in the decanter, so give it 30 minutes or so. Nose is very fruity and concentrated with cedar, leather, dried strawberries and sage. Palate is a bit harsh and spicy but is almost balanced by the concentrated dark fruits (plums and black cherries). There is also a strong note of red and black licorice. The tannins and acid are well-integrated but it still feels a bit out of balance somehow. Not bad, but perhaps not quite great.

December 28, 2017 - No formal notes. A decent Nero with good depth and length.

September 22, 2016 - A bit too lush and sweet. Not much holding this wine together.

June 8, 2016 - In a good place right now. Earthy yet still rich, coffee, plums, some violets, fruits fresh and forward, well integrated tannins, good length. Watch out for the sediment though. 89-90 p

March 31, 2016 - Good composition. Had the generic tart frontend of Sicilian wine; at least in my experience. Still, lots of fruit flavor on a straight ahead platform. Good with food.

Tannini suadenti e finale abbastanza lungo.

October 29, 2015 - Plummy fruit. Some VA. Unrefined tannins. Overall fairly rustic.

January 14, 2015 - Black fruit (plum and cherry) on the palate, medium-body and tannins. Could use a bit more acid to make it more lively. Finishes with big plum. An easy drinking red. Too much ripe fruit for me on the finish. All in all its a good wine teetering on great (even though I don't like plum flavors in wine). For the fellow wine nerds I highly recommend the Gulfi Cerasuolo over this one
