August 31, 2020 - So an ok nose with subtle hints of flowers and red fruit. Not overpowering. On taste disjointed. Seems a bit DOA. Acidity is there, fruit is there, alcohol is there, not tannins - resolved. Somehow it does not work together. As it opens up it seems to be a bit more cohesive but I would still say it is a disjointed wine at this point.

October 7, 2017 - Another Saturday at Chevalier...Mostly Blind (Chevalier Fine Wines - Chicago IL): Small glass, brief note. Nicely mature red fruit aromas, followed by similar flavors with a slightly bitter note. Didn't seem "2004" on nose, but very "2004" on palate.

April 10, 2017 - Showing very well now. Subtle and complex at the same time. Won't knock you over the head with bright fruit flavors (Burgundy after all), but the berry fruit flavors with an overriding floral hint (celery) are there. Best of all, it evolves over a couple of hours to keep you guessing.

April 15, 2016 - Opens with notes of cherry and mineral, followed by rose petals and a stemmy/sandalwood kind of note. A sour cherry/red fruit aroma emerges with air. The palate initially shows cherry, currants and minerals with a decent finish. The sour red fruit quality that emerged on the nose shows up on the palate too. For the next couple of hours this waffled back and forth every 15-20 minutes between a very pleasant Burgundy and a sour, overly acidic wine.

March 13, 2016 - Second Sunday Group: 1996 Bordeaux (high end) (Marty's): Very green and sour.

(Bertagna Clos Perriere Vougeot) #2; COLOR-dark; NOSE-a huge amount of pickle juice; hint of cranberry; some manure/fertilizer action; strawberry & basil component; definitely Old World; I like it; TASTE-very complex; HUUUGE rounded red cherries on the edges of your palate; little celery stick action; a little Thanksgiving ham w/ cranberry; medium to full bodied Pinot Noir; tons of pickles; tons of raspberries & cranberries; great fruit; really well made; I really like this; very Old World; not a fruit bomb; WS-90; GV-91

(Bertagna Vougeot Clos de la Perrière) Tight nose, yet still some interesting high tones and an edge of oak. The palate seems to have just a little extra structure vs the previous wines. Very good length too. This is a very nice wine.
