  September 14, 2020 - Once again, the benefits of putting this wine away for a few years are evident. Not hugely complex, but so nicely balanced with ripe berry fruit nicely in balance with oak and tannins.

  April 4, 2020 - Ruby red, slight browning around the rim. Nose very strongly varietal, with mint and gum leaves and a slight vegetative smell. Great mouthfeel, starting to be dominated by tannins as the fruit – ripe black plums too the fore here – start to be dominated by the oak. This is especially through the mid and onto the back palate, as the finish is quite dry. There is a lot going on in this lovely wine, which is beautifully suited as a food match.
  
  Have scored at 90 rather than 89, in part to recognize that this wins is extraordinarily good value for those who are prepared to cellar it a few years as we have done.

  August 6, 2017 - Smoother than the last bottle. A nice winter warmer. Lighter than the Coonawarra Cab Savs but nice the same.

  December 31, 2013 - Interesting to go back to a standard run of the mill mass produced SA cabernet. noticeable was the young fruit and synthetic tasting spicy finish. very clovey, lacking any tannic finish.
