November 25, 2022 - This wine is at the peak of its development, smack in the centre of the drinking window. Black fruit, licorice, drop, garrigue, grilled meat notes. A full body wine with medium acidity, medium silky tannin and medium(+) alcohol. Elegant, concentrated yet not overpowering, structured like a house. In perfect balance and harmony with a long, layered satisfying finish.
With braised pulpo and white beans.
    Very impressive.

August 20, 2022 - Long Weekend Lake Michigan; 8/19/2022-8/22/2022 (Leelanau County, MI): Opened an hour before, this Bandol was exotic, intense and delicious. Youthful but not tannic. Impressive.

January 5, 2020 - Contrary to my note from three years ago, this wine was really tight. 2-hour decant and then after two more hours was just showing its stuff. Great potential but needs another 3-5 years for the tannins to dissipate and the fruit to come forward.

December 8, 2019 - This is one of 12 bottles that have been in my cellar for over two years and I had an occasion to dip in and try a bottle. Tasted bretty and very un-interesting.

November 3, 2019 - I have experience with each Tempier vintage on release back to 1979 and also know 1978, 1975, 1971, and 1970 Tempiers. 2012 has always been by far my least favorite Tempier vintage because of excessive alcohol, and with time, the problem has gotten worse, not better. The wine is hot, overripe, stretched, and shows none of the sensuality that is the key to what makes Migoua such a great wine. What a shame because other vintages can be so great.

August 25, 2019 - Really smooth. Just a lovely wine with a lot of layers and a hint of spiciness. King of Bandol!

August 8, 2017 - Aroma: somewhat restrained scents of flowers, honeycomb and red berries.
Palate: rich and spicy black cherry flavors with wood notes. Creamy texture. Moderate, mature, balanced tannin. Drink or hold.

March 12, 2017 - Another beauty from Tempier. Still an infant wine, dominated by primary aromas of dark berries, Earth and leather. Full bodied, creamy tannins, Nice acidity that Balances the powerful fruit and structure. Long aftertaste With hints of animal tones. This should benefit from 5 more years in the cellar.
