March 11, 2017 - Sadly my last bottle of four...consumed between November 2006 and March 2017...I think I saved the best for last...simply put, wide open from the first pour with rich dark red and black fruit...thick and viscous, almost Sauternes-like, but not sweet...long finish...our glasses emptied quickly.

December 16, 2016 - In spite of its 12 years of age, still drinking quite well. Nose of blackberries and vanilla. Bold, fruit forward, and jammy on the palate, with no obvious heat in spite of the high (16.6%) alcohol. Medium length finish. Definitely worth the $24 I paid at auction, and I will drink my remaining 4 bottles over the next twelve months.

January 30, 2016 - I think the peak was about a year ago- but drinking nice. The Alc. is in check as much as possible for a 16.6% wine. Big fruit forward Zin and that is what I was looking for. Black fruit, licorice and wrapped nicely in oak. The fruit is declining slowly in this wine. This isn't for everyone, but I appreciate wines like this every so often.
