    November 17, 2019 - Multiple bottles from multiple sources. This was a good one. Nice course of ripe dark fruit mixed with a fine leafy hearbal element. Tannins a bit coarse, but otherwise this is outstanding. Doesn’t show any over ripeness or other notes of heat stress. Drinking very well.
    (Consistent note from last year. I always write my notes before checking old notes.)

    November 15, 2019 - Tasting dinner, so brief note. Uber classic Bordeaux, very well done despite the hot vintage, lots of secondary and tertiary notes, should be excellent with food. Strong buy at the price.

    September 29, 2019 - An impressive wine; the heat of 2003 was more than many could cope with, but this is an exemplar of adaptation to the conditions. Very dark colour still, classic Bordeaux nose of graphite, leather, plum and cedar. Wonderful balance now on the palate; rich fruit, touch of sweetness but the firm backbone characteristic of this Chateau is there. Finish is not quite as convincing as I would have hoped for, but overall a very satisfying bottle.
    Needs strongly flavoured food at this stage and there is scope for further development: it drinks well now after a short aeration, but should hold well for another 5-7 years.

    September 14, 2019 - Decanted for two hours but opened up after only 30 minutes. Powerful aromas of cough drops and roasted green peppers. Fragrant dark cherries in the mouth with some residual heat. Still primary for the most part but secondary characteristics of smoke and leather starting to emerge. Will need more time to develop fully though very drinkable now.

    July 27, 2019 - Next to the '83 this was a youthful and dense buck. I love that the bell pepper notes don't get lost in the ripe, but not at all roasted, fruit. Fun now but this will be better in 10+ years as it matures and sheds some of the fruit richness.

    June 25, 2019 - Hard to believe this is almost 16 years old. It's so dark and young and still together, it could be a newly released wine. It's still tannic too. Very much in the old style. Dark berry, forest floor, earth, funk, tannins, and zero apologies. And a great price to boot. The 2003 heat wave did make this a bruiser though, it is more masculine than even usual. I love this chateau and I hope they never stray from their style.

    June 20, 2019 - 55% C.Sauvignon, 40% Merlot et 5% C.Franc

    Bouchon entamé de 20%

    Robe : Noire, très légèrement orangé au niveau du disque. A l'agitation, de belles larmes se font jour.
    Nez : Sur les fruits noirs, le café, les épices et une petite pointe de poivron rouge.
    Bouche : On retrouve, les fruits noirs. La matière est bien présente, les tanins commencent à se fondre. Belle longueur en bouche. Beaucoup de plaisir
