April 24, 2020 - 200 NOK.

October 20, 2017 - Veldig bra balansert. Fin syrefriskhet og struktur. Litt peppertoner og krydret, moreller kirsebær etc. Klassisk nebbiolo.

February 27, 2017 - A very nice Gattinara now reaching its platform. Typical Nebbiolo, lively and elegant, red fruit, sour cherry, more like a Barbaresco than a Barolo. Medium body and finish. Very dinner friendly with pasta or risotto. I recently attended a tasting with Nervi wines. I preferred this one with food more than the more substantial Valferana or the even bigger Molsino.

December 6, 2016 - Very translucent and rather pale cherry red color with a brick-orange hue. Wonderfully open and nuanced nose with attractive aromas of ripe cherries, rowanberries, some sweet smoky tones, a little bit of earthiness and a hint of tar. The wine is light-to-medium-bodied, smooth and crunchy on the palate with dry flavors of ripe red cherries, sour cherry bitterness, some rowanberry marmalade, a little bit of tart cranberry, light smoky tones and a hint of tobacco. Although dry and noticeably acid-driven in style, there is still a pleasant streak of sweetness that lends good sense of balance to the wine. The 10 years of age have smoothed the wine's mouthfeel, but the overall impression is still quite firm and structured, thanks to the high acidity and the healthy and still somewhat grippy - but not aggressive - tannins. The finish is long, super-juicy and moderately grippy with flavors of ripe red cherries, some crunchy cranberries, a little bit of sour cherry bitterness, hints of sweeter dark fruits and a touch of smoky spice.
A beautiful, classic Gattinara that performs really well despite the somewhat challenging vintage. This is not the biggest or burliest Nebbiolo out there - but Gattinara very rarely is big or ripe anyway. Although starting to show the first signs of development, the wine still feels relatively youthful and most likely it will take another decade before the wine is at its peak. Wonderful stuff, Nervi really doesn't disappoint. Terrific value at 15,50€. -

November 13, 2016 - Pine and eucalyptus aromas. Lighter than the Molsino, but more elegant.
