April 8, 2023 - Surprisingly fresh. Red berried wine, not that complex but great because of the vintage.

January 27, 2019 - Sour cherries, roses on the nose. The palate is on the sour cherries, but this is complemented by a velvety texture that can only come from aggressive tannins that had time to dissolve. The finish manages to balance the brutish 14.5% alcohol and the still noticeable tannins with a good amount of acidity. This is a bottle that could age another 5 to 10 years easily.

March 16, 2018 - Wow! This wine is pleasantly surprising in many regards. It needs to be filtered (lots of sediment). Unlike many 100% Tannat wines, this has a strong tannic backbone but also has a very appealing balance of fruit, acidity, and minerality. We drank it with a mushroom puff pastry, cheese and bread and enjoyed it tremendously.

February 22, 2015 - Double decanted 12 hours before serving. Quite primary. Smells like ripe dark fruit/liqueur, dark chocolate, something herbaceous vaguely along the lines of rosemary or pine, dark earth, and a bit of alcohol (label says 14.5%). Dark fruit-driven on the palate, ripe but fully dry, with some earthiness and chocolate, and only a bare hint of oak. Fairly strong, grippy tannins, but they're manageable (especially with food). Good acidity lends freshness. Slowly continues to improve and come together over the course of 10 more hours in the bottle, with the chocolate and alcohol diminishing, the fruit mellowing slightly, and the earth and herbs coming out a bit more; could have used even more air in the first place. Clearly too young, but fairly enjoyable.
