December 25, 2023 - Disappointing. Been saving this one for a long time. Both nose and palate were of the fade side. There is much better NZ pinot out there that are less expensive

February 6, 2021 - Un brin moderne, élevage et vanille avec
    un fruit dense et juteux.
Finale assez longue et un peu asséchante.

November 9, 2020 - Drank with: Marcy & Sally (actually, Nancy). Did so in the living room watching election returns.
Provenance: Last bottle of NZ wine we brought back 4 years ago. Been in wine fridge the whole time.
    Decant: None; popped-and-poured.
Stemware: Riedel glasses. Not sure of the series, but they are red glasses of some sort. (I think they are the ones that come in a 4- or 8-pack from BB&B - Bordeaux style?)
Color: Light purple color with a little amber on the edges.
Aroma: Not getting strong aromatics. Some cherry. A bit astringent. Dried fruit. Somewhat muted.
Body weight: Light, crisp, but smooth.
Impressions: Lots of green pepper and funk at start, and lots of acidity. Began to smooth and integrate. Then went to gritty. Saved a glass for second day, and it was more Sonoma Coast -like with the Thanksgiving spice, but could tell that one night did not really help. Overall, was disappointed. Should have consumed soon after we got back home.
Flavor: Initial tastes of green pepper. Musty notes, some funk. Some forest floor. Lots of Earthy notes, dirt. Tart, dry, with a streak of acidity. Mid-bottle picking up some cherry and chocolate (?). As mentioned above, picked up some Thanksgiving spice the next day.
Food Pairing: Had it with Indian, but not sure it's the best match, but the bottle was already selected. Wasn't a bad pairing, but not ideal.
Score: Not sure what I paid, but it wasn't cheap. Had better Pinots from Rippon. This is not a good QPR. Not worth the cost. And it's probably past prime, so I'm not going to score. Plus, I don't have a lot of experience with NZ Pinot nor this producer.
    Drink window: Past Prime
Personal Note: We were in NZ in 2016 during the US elections (and the last time the Cubs won the World Series). Seemed appropriate to open a NZ wine tonight as we watch election returns. It's our last bottle from NZ, and Rippon was a favorite stop.

March 8, 2020 - Pas de notes. Bouteille ouverte et consommé beaucoup trop rapidement et sans attention en fin de scéance de dégustation. Dommage.

June 21, 2019 - Wine was good but not spectacular, given the cost think you could fine better value elsewhere.
