January 20, 2018 - Very ripe nose of strawberry, framboise, sliced sweet apple, lilac, mint tea and chalk. In the mouth it was all ripe berries, cantaloupe, almost going to tropical i.e. mango with hints of mushroom and forest flour, soft. Nice but I expected a little more acid and brightness. I don't see a reason to wait as I don't see it improving. Good match for the herbed char-grilled pork chop and duck fat roasted brussel sprouts enjoyed with it.

November 1, 2017 - This is an interesting Beaujolais. Definitely a bit reduced on initial opening and remains a bit dark and brooding. As is typical with Brouilly, there is a bit of a peppery note to the palate that keeps it interesting. Nose shows blue fruit and spice. On the palate, juicy, tightly coiled cranberry and pepper with a hint of earth. Prominent acids keep it wound up at this point and tannins are also still present and noticeable. A quality wine, but needs a couple more years to unwind.

March 28, 2016 - Really interesting wine. The nose is multidimensional with bright fruit and earthy notes. There is also a toasty smell going on. The palate is engaging on the attack but blooms into tart blueberry and raspberry. The dominant fruit is longipe which probably only means something to you if you grew up in Louisiana but it's unmistakable.

December 8, 2015 - Reduced upon opening; some bitter, herbal character; not as impressed as I had hoped.

June 21, 2015 - A bit reductive on the nose, otherwise showcasing attractive red fruit and a floral note. On the palate quite lean but definitely less angry and bitter as the Chiroubles of the same vintage. Easy drinking and food friendly, with obvious freshness to it. Not really a wine of huge interest but a solid palate-cleanser that served quite decently its purpose with our meal which included sausages, smoked salmon and several less wine-friendly items.

January 9, 2015 - Medium bodied, good fruit. Not as good as other Boulands I have had, but very decent. Maybe a bit overpriced for what it is, but very acceptable.

January 23, 2014 - Beaujolais Trade Tasting 'The Glory of Gamay' with Tim Atkin MW (The Taj Hotel and Residences, Buckingham Gate, London, UK): There's a certain freshness and vibrancy to this, and the acidity gives it an almost pomegranate / cranberry jolt. Very zesty with some pleasant pepper spice on the finish.
