October 11, 2012 - opened this bottle to celebrate my 68th birthday. shared with ellen, mahesh and pat at selkirk manor. served with dessert (assorted cupcakes from Brooklyn Cupcakes in Williamsburg). this was the second of two bottles brought home from dinner at Union Square Cafe with Danny Meyer. I am afraid i let too much time go by to revisit this wine. we have so few occasions where we serve formal dessert course in a celebratory manner. there was a quick burst of fruit upon opening which initially made me think the wine was still sound. it was only enjoyable for a brief period with flavors and viscosity reminiscent of preserved peaches. this faded quickly, leaving an unpleasant metallic taste. will use unconsumed wine for cooking.

May 30, 2009 - served this with dessert (pepperidge farm chocolate cake) at a selkirk manor housewarming dinner. pat, keith and jean were in attendance. this bottle was a gift from danny meyer, for having attended annual wine dinner at union square cafe in june of 2006. seems hard to believe that 3 years have gone by. tonite, the wine showed very well. tastes almost the same as i remember it. other tasters have found so many different flavors. for me, the peach is outstanding. the wine is still very fresh although it has lost whatever acidity was there in its youth. i have to agree with the hugel website that this wine will remain sound and enjoyable for another year. will save remaining bottle for next summer.

June 21, 2007 - Nice wine! Nose of apple, pear, perhaps some pineapple and a little floral aspect. The palate was fruit, with honey. Difficult to pinpoint the exact fruit. Nice balance. Not too sweet, off dry wine. Nice mouth feel and finish. Paired this with Chinese food. The spicier the dish, the sweeter this wine seemed. Nice pairing that I'd do again.

April 7, 2007 - This wine has lost its acidity. Only drank a small amount and then decided to pass on the bottle.

March 6, 2007 - Had it at dinner with Phil and Alla, who dug it very much. Still drinking nicely, though I'm concerned that it's losing some of its acidity. I'll pick up a bottle of the '05 for a little vertical.

March 2, 2007 - Nice balance. Agree with previous noes. Faint sweetness, decent acidity. Lime, grapefruit and apricot and typical floral nose (although somewhat muted). Would buy again - represents fair value.

December 9, 2006 - Of the six bottles uncorked at Saturday's dinner party, this was the favorite according to our blind ballot. I tasted it, but because I was running around doing the host thing, didn't get to think about it— seemed perfectly decent, not overly sweet, good acidity. Couldn't tell you more, but I'll probably pick up a few more bottles.
