December 8, 2023 - Splash decanted and tasted 90 minutes later. You could smell the fruit and oak as the cork was pulled. This is very nice, and fully mature at this point. A-

March 30, 2023 - Different than the 2004 La Mouline, but equally enjoyable. A larger scaled wine.

March 11, 2023 - Guigal’s La-La-La horizontal, wine #3/3. 100% Syrah, vines average 38 years of age, aged for 42 months in new oak. For me it was the most powerful, darkest multidimensional eruption of black fruit, smoke and minerals. Rich aroma of dried herbs, nettles, smoked meat, blueberries, strawberries, black tea, earth, hints of dried violets and coffee. Full body, rich and multilayered palate with elegant and silky texture, denser earthy and smoky black fruit flavours, saline hint, grippiest tannic structure of the trio.
After 9 hours became less grippy and more elegant with opulent but more polished persistent flavours.

December 29, 2022 - This wine was poured at home without decanting. The wine was mid deep garnet red in colour and slightly cloudy. The nose was of dark berries along with some vegetal smells.
In the glass were flavours of dark berries, bacon, smoke and some green peppers. The acidity was light while the tannins were at a mid level. This was a lovely wine.

July 4, 2022 - Hard to pick out blind, as lacked peppery or gamey sensations.

March 18, 2022 - Rarefied juice. With the caveat that time and place can affect score, enjoyed at 114 Faubourg in Paris over lively family meal. Relatively muted nose but opened up over two hours. An aristocratic Syrah palate, really really nice Cote Rotie. Typically strong Rhone flavors were muted but sat there in the distance almost having a picnic with a good mature Bordeaux. A melange of the 2010 Chave Hermitage I had a few nights ago and maybe a Conseillante firing on all cylinders.

August 15, 2021 - A beautiful Syrah! Began forrest floor and almost murky and wet on the nose. After a few hours opened up to being quite soft and delicate. A beautiful wine!

October 14, 2020 - Decant for 60 min. Clean palate with fruit, and some earth note. Complicated palate with some earthy, fruit and mix of tea and herbs. Medium finishing. Continued to evolve for the next 1 hour

May 24, 2020 - Four-hour decant. Still youthful and smooth on the palate with pure flavors of cherry cola, blackberry, spicy earth. The acid and tannins are nicely integrated and I'm not sure this is going to ever turn into anything magnificent with lots more cellar time. Lovely now if you are willing to pay the ticket price.

October 14, 2019 - A young and developing nose that is fruity and floral. A BIG wine. Medium to full bodied. Medium tannin. Sour plum and sweet spice. Needs a lot longer if you want secondary notes. Simple and balanced. Drink 2024-40+
