March 16, 2019 - In celebration of Ben's birthday. Such a beautiful wine -- floral nose right out of the bottle, it becomes less obvious, less fresh, with time in the decanter, replaced by dried flower and mesquite. Drinking splendidly, kirsch and leather giving way to a finish of pepper spice and brush. Just about all I would want from a wine of its type. Very impressive showing

March 15, 2018 - Rather Burgundian. Elegant. Cherry fruit, garrigue. A tiny bit of leather. Long finish. In the zone. This bottle was purchased as a late release from the winery.

February 10, 2018 - Reticent on the nose. Could have used more air than I could offer it. Savory and herbal with impressive depth. It’s charms are subtle but persistent and undeniable. Seems I drank my trio with a span of about 5 years between them and given the progression, wish I had a couple more over the same timeframe.

April 22, 2017 - From magnum. Nice, cool Grenache. Kirsch, strawberry, some tertiary marks. I don't notice the dark olive notes I usually find in Mont Olivet. Good wine, restrained.

October 12, 2016 - I don't give numerical ratings as a routine. This wine is fantastic to me. It starts quite closed and somewhat monolithic. Ripe darker fruit. With about an hour of aeration however the structure subsides and the wine blossoms. Beautiful spice. Darker fruit. A really wonderful finish. Not powerful but so sexy. I like this. It is more about finesse than power.

(Clos du Mont-Olivet Châteauneuf-du-Pape) Candy like, processed nose; oaky, ripe cherry palate with vanilla notes and little depth or complexity; short-medium finish
