August 7, 2021 - This wine was awesome value. Still drinking wonderfully. Lots of savory red fruit, some garrigue, and tannins nicely integrated making it soft and well balanced.

October 13, 2019 - Crust and debris on the capsule but with a good fill and cork, this presented the most distinctly funky bouquet on first pour of any wine I've experienced. The wide glass bowl was filled with the scents of fresh fish skin (I'm thinking Salmon), tuna blood, and sweaty saddle-leather. This persisted for ~10-20 minutes before dissipating into a more familiar, less-exotic nose of beef blood, iron, flowers, and dark cherry juice. This is an extremely dry wine with mostly integrated tannin and loads of sour cherries and leathery tertiary components. With food and fat, this shows a touch sweeter and one picks up the lingering red fruits from its youth. I sense slight oxidation on this first glass, but its still holding together. I like the mineral laden finish and ultra dry, acidic foundation this lays. A CdP of more classic proportions, this didn't garner any massive scores in its youth, but it's far superior now to many of the heady bruisers that did. Here's a case for visiting a wine out the gate and not getting into the auto-habit of heavy decanting or filtration before saying hello to the living organism setting in front of you.

December 10, 2016 - Drinking beautifully right now, and has enough depth of sweet ripe fruit, fresh acidity, and ripe chunky tannin to go another couple of years. Has a lovely warmth to it and a very pleasant mouthfeel which makes it dangerously moreish on a snowy December night. Probably very versatile food wine.

January 9, 2016 - Drank over supper with friends so no proper tasting note. However this is drinking very well now. Still very vigorous and long.
