  November 10, 2011 - Many times you open a bottle and think you should've waited a few more years, or on the contrary that you should've opened it a few years earlier. This is not the case here. This is perfect to drink now, it was great straight from the bottle as well as an hour later. Ripe red fruit, figs, fine tannins and ample acidity, all well-integrated.

Speaking more of juicy, ebullient fruit at this point than of the dried herbs and roasted meat I so often find in wines of this region. Just gloriously fun, clean and enjoyable. In a restaurant setting where our group of 3 had ordered wildly different main courses, this wine was pleasing to all and matched effortless (well I can only vouch for the match with my own dish) with a broad array of food (roast pork; seared Barramundi in a beef and truffle broth; spicy octopus).
