October 3, 2022 - Very nice , needed a little time with the air to show its stripes at this point in life. Small secondary ,some prunes , well made juice.

March 24, 2021 - Eleven years since I last tasted this? Wow, life is short, but this wine is aging wonderfully. The nose shows musky, green olive, anise and campfire tones over top of deep plum fruit. Dusty tannins and moderate acidity on the palate, with some mulled cherry and plum fruit. This is really spicy and fresh with lots of beef drippings, green olives in brine, morel mushroom broth, bacon fat. On top of those flavors, the zippy, fresh appeal is really appreciated. Beautiful showing.

February 5, 2021 - This is still such a beauty. It’s on airy, light red cherry fruit, lavender and pepper notes. It’s cool with a great structure, fresh and delicious and still youthful. It’s just such a different animal compared to the 2005 next to it. Hands down the best wine of the two.

October 17, 2020 - Outdoor mostly masked socially distanced B-day party: An unplanned bottle; a request for CdP. I've drunk a lot of Chateauneuf through the years, but not much recently. Charvin was always a favorite. To me, this was solid but uninspiring. Red fruit, garrigue, a little heat. The bottle was emptied, but didn't generate the awe or chatter like others.
