October 13, 2019 - The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like black pepper. It tastes like black pepper and stoniness.

January 28, 2017 - To the nose, blackberry and black raspberry with very slight black cherry. Spice is slight black and white pepper. Surprisingly, there is a fragrance - lilac? It's real.
On the palate, blackberry dominates over black raspberry; minimal black cherry, and some very slight plum only after opening up over an hour - but blueberry shows, too. Spice is only minimal pepper. Tannins are very soft, providing minimal structure. Notable vanilla with no leather or tobacco; very slight oak. Medium to med/full mouthfeel. Length is moderate with fruit falling off mid-range.
I thought this would be well past prime but pleasantly surprised. -

January 23, 2016 - Always a nice standby. Accompanied with a vegetarian chili. Stood up to the spices and sprinkling of a mixed Mexican shredded cheese.
The wine had a nice finish but it was softer than I remember. Probably should have drank it sooner.1 person found this helpful Comment -

November 16, 2015 - Good everyday wine or for guests with an inexperienced palet. We keep it for both.

November 13, 2015 - Big, Dusky, Blackberry nose. The structure seems dry, tannic, medium-high alcohol, and I get flavors that are heavily oaked , BlackBerry, tobacco, perhaps some dark cherry. Finishes medium long with a dry and acidic finale.
Seems a good value wine, uses the fruit to make a good impression , although I'm not sure I want a second date.
