January 4, 2016 - Beat pinot noir at a great price too. Oakridge on the rise.

Cranberry, sour cherry, spice, undergrowth, with an almost meaty note running through it. Very fine tannins and good length of fruit. Could do with a few more years.

November 26, 2014 - Transparent almost-garnet core, watery rim; looks older than it is, but note that the back label says "fermentation in open vessels for two weeks...". Nose clean with no oxidative smell; ample fruit and savoury aromas. Palate of plummy fruit, savoury soy sauce/umami, meat, with vanilla and a sensation of sweetness on the finish. Nicely tart acidity, tiny touch of tannins, moderate alcohol. Light in body but still long, complex, and full of character.
