May 13, 2021 - Root Day - decanted off a teaspoon of fine grained tannins. Surprisingly it’s still garnet in colour at the core with a moderate red edge. Definitely doesn’t look like a 17 year old wine. Nose of wet loam, forest floor, sweet spice (anise, 5 spice), dark plum, black cherry and a bit of a feral/red meat note. On the palate it abounds in red fruit with medium plus acidity, new leather, ripe and still very present tannins, and fresh baking herbs. It seems like it’s still a baby! Perfect for my steak dinner tonight. Wow! Superb and will easily go another 5 years of development.

October 6, 2015 - Still not near the end of it’s life - garnet in the glass with developed aromas and flavours. Smooth medium length finish. Very Enjoyable
