    October 12, 2023 - -- decanted 1 hr. before initial taste --
    -- tasted non-blind over 2-3 hrs. --

NOSE: smelling pretty aged: dark, baked red fruits and "aged Cab. Sauv. leather"; dark/smoky/baked red fruits; hint of mint comes and goes. Quite enjoyable.

BODY: medium bodied; mahogany-violet color of medium to medium-deep depth.

TASTE: medium+ to high acidity; aged; plenty of aged fruit flavor still here --- not entirely autumnal, yet, but that aspect is certainly there; still some slightly drying tannin present; drinks on the young side for a 28 yo wine; some woodsy spice -- sandalwood, rose, vetiver, and black tea; bitter, powdery, florals on the finish. Quite nice, but perhaps a small click behind the previous bottle. Drink Now.

June 1, 2023 - A bit of a struggle to get the crumbly cork out, but the wine was sound. Good deep color for its age. Notes of bell pepper, celery seed and moist earth. Good complexity and silky tannins. Very similar to the 1994 but perhaps with plumper fruit. Excellent.

April 7, 2023 - Tons of green bell peppers on this one… just like fajitas or on a hot sausage sandwich. Ground black pepper too, all in all a fine wine with nice acidity and drying finish but the pepper notes dominated.

February 6, 2023 - This bottle is from the library release from winery.

Opened for 7 hours, double decanted 1 hr prior to serving. Was fairly consistent throughout.

100% Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes spent 24 months in concrete. The lack of oak is apparent on the palate.

Expressive nose, dark fruit and pleasant tertiary earthy notes - leather, mushroom (no decay).

Dark ripe red fruit, cassis, leather, some green pyrazine notes, but they are well integrated. Plenty of earthy notes on the palate too. Probably would have called this cab franc blind. Full bodied, but rustic. No reason to believe that it will fall off anytime soon, but don't see much room for improvement.

    Great value for $60.
