November 19, 2023 - It has been a good 8 years since we had this last ( Papies 91-92) and such a joy to cross paths again with some proper age.
Joyful and dare we say still young albeit this is the right time for sure to start ones journey with this wine. We do like Wine on the more aged style so one needs to adjust for that but definitely this will put a smile on anyone but the very young fruit loving palate. Very pretty 92 now and with a lot of proper life ahead to age and possibly improve more too. 92+1 person found this helpful Comment -

October 1, 2023 - 13% alcohol. The cork is average in length but of superior quality, and it shows no wine penetration at all, quite a feat at age 22. CS dominant (from tasting I would hasard close to 60%). Decanted 75 mn ahead. Deep colour with some thinning (but no browning) at the rim.
The nose has a lovely blended quality with plenty of fruit left as well as tertiary notes of leather; classic mature Médoc, I could be sniffing this all day long. A bit of smoke at times too. Equally good in the mouth with a winning juicy quality. Tannins are fully resolved, but the wine does not lack grip. The oak is perceptible but it contributes to the general harmony; menthol in the finish after a while in the glass.
Delightful in a classical mode, and capable of lasting another five years at least. -

April 30, 2023 - Decanted around one hour, principally for sediment, but the wine's aroma benefited hugely from the air and the last sip was certainly the best. Quite funky, with a lovely, ever-changing combination of leather, ash and sweet strawberry fruit. I'd really like to try this again sometime.

November 6, 2022 - A slightly tired bottle, so this is not representative of what you would get otherwise, but still going strong, with quite a rich seam of spicy cherry and blackberry midpalate which lights up the wine and cheers up what would otherwise have been a little pedestrian.
