March 29, 2024 - Our final bottle, opened to accompany a lobster-based appetizer. Light color is very promising but there is just a subtle hint of butterscotch as well, with orchard fruit tones underneath. I find a little butterscotch on the palate as well, and for me it is too distracting. Made better by being paired with our meal, this was good but clearly short of the better examples of this.

February 19, 2024 - Knockout wine. This is a big Chardonnay and if that’s not your style you may not like it, but within that category it’s balanced, complex and long

Nose is a blast of lemon, grass, white flowers, butter and a hint of the artichoke that comes through more on the palate. The flavor and body is big and bold but balanced with enough acidity and minerality. The more savory artichoke/vegetable notes are also nicely balanced with the fruit flavors and linger in in long finish, giving this wine an interesting and distinctive complexity.

May 21, 2023 - Consumed my last bottle of this vintage - continues to drink beautifully with notes of crisp apple, lemon curd, minerals and hint of crushed stone. Well balanced with long satisfying finish. Paired with grilled king crab legs.

May 1, 2023 - Opened by Allred. Served blind. I've had 9 Peter Michael Chards, always at someone else's expense. This was an excellent example of a rich concentrated California Chardonnay. A buttery and oaky nose. Notes of lemons and waxy white fruit. An oily texture with some alcohol on the spicy finish. Unfortunately, this is not a style that appeals to me. 91 points.

April 29, 2023 - 4th Saturday Brown Bagger (EBCC): Light youthful color with aromas of lemon and citrus fruit, pear and fig. Apple, citrus and mineral on the palate. Rich, with a lingering finish.
