August 25, 2022 - Clear medium cherry red. Some inviting sweetness on the nose with strawberry, baking spice, orange peel and a hint of sous-bois lurking in the background. This came across as fresh and quite youthful still with red fruit dominating, good lift and a broad finish. Benefited from a 1 hour decant.

August 20, 2022 - Similar to prior note after double decanting for an hour; delicious, drink or preferably hold

September 2, 2021 - Okeydokes. So I meant to open the 2013….but instead I fumbled upon the 2012 and it is an absolute belter. Previous comments about full bodiness are valid, especially when our next bottle was an ‘86 St Julien.

    So, she’s a biggun, beguiling, bejesus…..total pleasure…..but a Gevrey Villages she ain’t!
Try in 1, 5, 10 yrs. It’s accomplished beyond belief now if you can resist. Winter fruit, silky darkness.

BTW, the 2012 is more approachable now, but only relevant to those who are reading this in 2037.

May 1, 2021 - Popped and poured. Blackberry, raspberry, earth and truffles come through. This starts with sappy ripe fruit in a fairly extroverted fashion and then brings in some interesting layers of complexity. This is a big rich full bodied wine in a somewhat Parker style. There is a lot of good elements to this wine but overall it feels a bit too showy and overdone.

April 7, 2021 - Incredible. Big, lots of fruit and rich finish. Still young and could go another 5-10 years.
