January 14, 2024 - This was a fantastic bottle, in a really beautiful spot; white pepper, red meats, and some sous bois - held together with wonderful acid structure and resolved tannins. There was a line of red fruit through the middle of the palate that brought this together. One of the better Rhone's I've had.

November 25, 2023 - Elegant, long and quite smooth. Peppery kirsch, slight green/herbacious feeling provides freshness. Best with food but also great as a vin de contemplation.

May 21, 2023 - ESTG does Cornas and St. Joseph (Newcastle, WA): A bit muddy with sort of an anonymous nose. Grippy palate, fairly round and easy, black fruit.

January 4, 2022 - Dense ripe Shiraz aromas. Black fruits. Not high on aromatics. Clean.
Full, ripe black fruit palate. Good length. Lovely balance. Mature but will drink well for maybe another decade or more.

October 15, 2021 - October 15, 2021. Tapas night. With rack of lamb in Korean barbecue pork. Full-bodied wine. No flaws. Well balanced. Well hold remaining bottles and Have the next bottle in six months to one year.

August 5, 2021 - Great bottle - really singing a northern Rhone tune, stony, deep and developed with notes of dark berries, liquirice, meat and tar. Still juicy and generous but composed. Superb!

    July 9, 2021 - E.Guigal St Joseph Vignes L'Hospice
Decant from bottle for 60 mins
Nice garnet deep purple color with good clarity. This wine opens up rather readily with nose of flora, violet and rose petals, both black and red fruits, black & red cherries, strawberries, blueberries, oaky with slight leathery, cigar box with sweet spices. Entry is smooth with inviting tannins, caramel, spices, minerals, characters with multi layers mainly echo the nose. Mid pallet is full and rich, well balanced and elegance. Long lasting finish 50 seconds and longer. This wine is ready to drink and could likely last for enjoyment for next 6-8 years. 92+ pts

May 16, 2021 - Nice and fresh Syrah. Expected a bit more looking on the price. A joyful wine but too much money !

    January 13, 2021 - Fabulous juicy wine!
Powerful but already with beautiful and well integrated silky tannins.
Aromas of sweet red fruits & tobacco with a palate of blueberry and cherry flavors.
    Long finish!
