February 4, 2024 - 2010 Was a Good Vintage in France (Jordan's Place - Chicago IL): Open 6+ hours, mostly on decanter. Polished and charming with fun black fruits. Maybe less classically Hermitage to me, but maybe that just means I don’t enjoy it as much as I do Chave.

Zuerst ist man fast ein bisschen enttäuscht, um dann aber von der Subtilität und Feinheit gefangen zu werden. Herrlich! Sehr feine Cassis- und Kirsch-Noten, herrlich changierende Gewürze. Ein wirklich großer Wein. Und doch hatte ich das Gefühl, der kann noch mehr, mehr Dichte und Balance. Also: 12 Jahre alt und doch zu jung? Ich würde sagen, ja. Nochmal in 5 Jahren probieren. Weiß nicht, ob ich das schaffe…
