February 4, 2023 - Similar to last tn from 2021 but has definitely improved since that time; definitely has awaken from its slumber and is very much in its ideal drinking window.
August 11, 2021 - A l’ouverture, la robe est légèrement évoluée, rouge tendant sur un peu de brun. Le nez est alcooleux. En bouche, des arômes de chocolat et de fruits très mûrs dominent de manière peu équilibrée. Le vin est surtout très très astringent. Epaulé et bu deux heures plus tard, le vin a très bien évolué. Les arômes se sont fondus au bénéfice d’une agréable complexité. L’astringence a presque totalement disparu et l’alcool (15%) est désormais bien intégré. La trame acide reste suffisante pour penser qu’il n’y a pas d’urgence à terminer ses stocks. Au final, un bon vin castelneuvois qu’il faut impérativement aérer.
July 17, 2021 - Eagles TN is spot on. Drank slightly chilled to counter the actual heat and the heat in the bottle. Worked quite well.
Nice CdP but not special by any means.
April 24, 2021 - 30 minute decant. Colour of light-medium pomegranate-garnet. Nose of dark cherries with some wet tobacco and berry iodine. Ripe earthy raspberries and black cherries with a touch of iodine on its meaty palate; the 15% abv is very noticeable. Medium bodied with a medium finish. Last tasted January 2016.
August 26, 2020 - No tasting note.
August 7, 2019 - Better than a year ago. Great tipicity. Textbook CdP, albeit with a somewhat elegant streak. Figs, plums, cherry liqueur, garrigue, dried leaves, a ton of minerality, and still assertive tannins. Will try to revisit in 2-3 yrs.
July 31, 2018 - A bit young and grapey at present, but promising. Blue fruit, medium tannins, good enough acidity, some minerality, pepper. Will revisit in 2more yrs. My impression is that this will improve. Wine masks reasonably well the whopping 15pct alcohol.
September 13, 2017 - stems are apparent here, good ripe grenache with pepper and lavender. well balanced
April 15, 2017 - A very good wine with lots of layers of flavor. Still seems very youthful.
February 18, 2017 - Great varietal flavors. Still has lots of years left
