September 15, 2023 - Red berries and cherries; a little maraschino, cardamom pods, touches of earth and mushroom. Those red berry and cherry notes translate to the palate, slightly woody textured burr, that cardamom note is joined by an almost slightly menthol quality as well as plenty of sweet spice. With time the cherry notes grow. It has been fascinating to see this wine evolve. For me the sweet spot was between 5 and 7 years of age. Still yummo

April 26, 2023 - Tasting delicious now. Nicely complex, tannins are smooth and a long dry finish. Flavors of blackberry, cherry, mineral, and wet oak emerge throughout with a hint of smokiness on the nose.

February 17, 2023 - Mature with modest bricking. Took about 45 minutes to open then lively aromas of cherry and woodsy notes. Dusty tannins and lively acids keep all in check however wine came across as a bit disjointed rather than harmonious. Nevertheless a delightful drink and very pleasant.

March 23, 2022 - Coravin fun - Randoms (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. medium minus intensity aromas mean that this is initially a little closed, showing dusty, dried wood notes and a little wood glue. With air and agitation it gets quite earthy with touches of Autumn leaves tending to Umami notes. A little wild strawberry and cherry, beneath this oaky notes. On the palate it's juicy but still quite reticent; plenty of drying tannic grip and a sense of brooding fruit travels long assisted by a little alcohol warmth. Hmm. Not sure if a decant will help.

August 26, 2021 - Nose of roses, damp moss, and sour cherries. Deep cherry layers on the palate along with dark earthy dirt and red fruit skins. Resolved medium tannins add dry red fruit and leather on the finish.
