May 12, 2018 - Medium ruby. VA on nose, ripe red and black fruits. Full bodied, sweet, almost jammy. Acidity there but a little out of balance.

December 8, 2017 - More classic Rhône in this bottle. Perhaps the extra year did the trick. Deeper briars fruit anda little smokiness. Central tannin and border acidity provides structure, balance and length. An update: I sealed the bottle for a day and it had degraded noticeably. Tones of oxidation were evident which is surprising. Drink in one evening.

May 28, 2017 - Fairly dark red. Smoked meat, herbs, blackberry and earth in a really intense beautiful nose. Delicious medium weight dry flavours and a great perfectly balanced finish.

Really great wine. So enjoyable. If this was a Pegau from a great vintage I would give it a 95, but how can I give a simple Rasteau from a mediocre vintage a score like that.

I must have an illiterate palate.

September 17, 2016 - Ok. That's about all I can say. It's lacking balance, depth, structure and strength. A pity for a Rasteau. I fear it was produced for the illiterate palate. It's quaffable and would suit a place after many better if one was on a wine binge but as a food complement it thoroughly disappoints.

February 22, 2016 - Consistent notes, the QPR here is off the scale, hugely extracted, great bright red fruits, cinnamon and a bit of blood. I wish I had more.

January 6, 2016 - needs a bit of time to open. Strong cherry and red raspberry fruit, firm tannin, oak and a bit of spice to round it out.

November 13, 2015 - Initially, it was "Oh my, why?" And I was all over crushing this bottle. After opening, it was all over the place but one place it inhabited was "Oh my!" And not a good exclamation, more one of frustration disappointment. But then I had to make dinner. Thank god. Now don't think I came back to wine and roses because I didn't. But I came back to a softened crazy man. The fruit, the essential Rhone, the bottle came alive. Thank you. A lot of grainy tannins (nice IMHO). Nice round fruit and a cutting acidity. I have fond memories of a previous bottle and this one stands up. Wine is amazing in that humidity, dinner, girlfriend, a lousy mood, even the bus can affect the perception. After all that noise drifted, I was left with something rather nice. I just don't know whether to wait for what I have left downstairs. I will say, if you open it an hour before and your not so damn impatient, as am I, you might have the way above average wine experience I finally claimed. At the end of the bottle. Damn.

January 26, 2015 - Opulent but elegant Rasteau wine with a varietal composition of 70 percent Grenache (from 60 year old vines) and 30 percent Syrah (from 30 year old vines), aged completely in concrete tanks. Decanting time: one hour. Very dense inky-red colored wine with purple shades at the rim, offering intense scents of plum fruit, kirsch liqueur, licorice, new leather and a touch of graphite. The powerful, sumptuous palate shows abundant ripe black and red fruit intermixed with garrigue-tones, good depth and already quite smooth tannins. Long spicy aftertaste. Drinking window: now-2020.

Lange kruidige afdronk. Te drinken: nu-2020.
