October 29, 2023 - Flowers and pretty dark fruits on the nose. Plush Blackberry, some tar and nice spice on the palate. Great balance good acidity and fine tannins follow through for a great finish. This is drinking very well now. Solid 92 points

May 29, 2023 - This is another incredible Syrah from Carlisle. Deep purple, almost black in color. Aromas of dark fruits and beef blood. On the palate it is rich, silky and has flavors of blackberries, dark plum, black licorice, black olive and a touch of smokiness. I have one more in the cellar and will drink it soon. This wine will last another couple years and is at it's peak.

March 18, 2023 - Same note as two months ago. I should have waited longer, but damn this wine is tasty.

Splash decant. This has a ton of berry fruit, along with garrigue, olive, smoke, earth and tar. The fruit is almost annoying in its opulence, but its so tasty. This makes me think I should buy more carlisle syrah.

February 18, 2023 - Decanted 45 minutes, but left 1/4 in the bottle - not much difference in the two samples after 90 minutes.

Dark, aromatic and supple. Complex aromas of blackberries, cigar box, grilled meat, and mocha. Luxurious palate - all the elements blend together seamlessly. Rich and plush black fruits with a long, liquer-ish finish. Absolutely hedonistic without being a fruit bomb. Believe this is at peak and will not improve much so recommend drinking with gusto over the next year or so.

February 12, 2023 - Because of its advanced years, I was a little apprehensive. I shouldn't have been, because this is holding up just fine. Great balance and it actually smells and tastes the way a syrah should smell and taste. Plenty of blueberries, garrigue, pepper, and baconfat. Not an in-your-face California fruit bomb, but a solid, subtle, food-friendly wine.
