December 30, 2020 - Didn't get to decant for too long and it hurt it a touch as it was a bit tight for a while. Rich lush dark fruit with some nice tannin muscle. Smooth finish. Really nice stuff.

November 13, 2020 - Opened for 2 plus hours. Aromas of bacon fat, cherry, beet and grilled herbs. Flavors of cherry, touch of raspberry, bacon fat, iron and touch of herb. Ends with a long 40 second finish with cherry and bacon fat finish.

November 2, 2020 - I rarely post notes any more but I found this wine to be absolutely beguiling, especially since I am someone who enjoys Syrah but does not necessarily seek it out. Very expressive nose and red and black fruits with forest floor and spice. No green or stemmy element here - not herbaceous at all. Powerful, but not in an over the top way. Great balance. Good acidity and long finish. Stored at 55 since acquired from Winery. I think this will be good for another 3-5 but probably won’t get much better.

October 28, 2020 - Great nose of deep, dark fruits set the expectation for a voluptuous wine. I was amazed at the powerful aromas when I poured the glasses. Sadly it seems disjointed and slightly astringent on the palate. Certainly dark fruits galore, but lacking in tannins and harmony to pull it together. We drank the 2017 PB (which I would score a strong 94-95) a couple of days earlier, and it soared so far above the 2012 that it felt like we were drinking a junior varsity wine in the 2012. Time won’t help this one either - we drank it over two nights with no improvement on the second night. We LOVE Carlisle wine, and this may have been our biggest disappointment in all the wines we have consumed over the years.

June 27, 2020 - PnP. This is not for the faint of heart. Lush and deep with rich red fruit wrapped around tar and subtle chocolate. Wonderful.
