May 15, 2022 - Subtle, slightly reticent nose, with just hints of cherry and cola, and maybe a touch of menthol. Smooth palate, tannins are nicely resolved. Easy to drink now, as can’t really see this evolving too much more. Nice steady wine. Better with food.

October 19, 2021 - Dense yet silky. Rich ripe cherry and exuberant quality to the fruit. Lots of mineral tones shining through the red raspberry leaf and cranberry. Fresh and lively acidity. Long finish. This wine is in a great place right now!

February 28, 2019 - Marchand-Tawse Wines with Thomas Dinel; 2/28/2019-3/3/2019 (Arlequin Wine Merchant and SF Wine Trading Company, San Francisco): Darker and deeper than the earlier wines. Medium weight. Iron, black cherry, and spice. Sappy, rocky, drying tannins. Good.

August 18, 2018 - Right now the concentration of this wine comes to the fore. Dense red. Bouquet of cherry liquor, lavender, herbs, and beef fat. Mouth filling. Good balance. There’s what presents as a hint of sur-maturité that is not pleasant. Awkward. Don’t know if it can become elegant or expressing tipicity.

May 1, 2017 - Saturated ruby red. Attractive bouquet of cherry liquor, herbs, stones, and a hint of bacon fat. Lovely balance in the mouth. Strong persistent flavors with a long, slightly bitter finish. Seems like an extremely well-made, concentrated Burgundy with a long life ahead of it.

This was the first year that the wines were produced by the Maume-Tawse team. I have no reference for how the wines were before.
