February 16, 2023 - This demanded a surprising amount of air. The fruit faded quite quickly after opening and so I thought it might be over the hill but quite the contrary. Day 2 was quite a full, robust Beaune, with dark raspberry fruit, earth, bay, oak, and an iron rich mineral finish. Very solid with air. Tannins integrated but good freshness remaining.

June 19, 2022 - This was much better than I expected. Excellent fruit concentration that was borderline new world in style. Round mouthfeel. Laced with damp earth, mushroom, and crushed minerals. Medium tannin on the finish.

September 20, 2018 - Purchased off the wine list at Hotel Le Choiseul, Amboise. Dark ruby. Nose of black raspberry, blackberry, earth, stone, faint floral notes. Imploded for an hour then revealed rich, deep layers of black raspberry and cherry fruit, oak notes, earthy spice, and grip in spades on the packed palate. Densely tannic and brightly acidic. Long, brooding finish of iron-inflected cherry fruit and rock. Barely accessible but a very good wine.

November 29, 2015 - Wild raspberry, sweet vanilla, a touch of cherry, sous-bois, meat. Textbook red Beaune. Hold. 89+
