April 2, 2021 - Semi transparent garnet to brown. Fading at the rim

Nose of wet stone and pepper

Medium light bodied. Palate of red fruit and classic Gigondas minerality. Tannins, while still present, are well integrated

July 19, 2020 - Translucent ruby red with a slight orangey tinge and a clear watery rim. The nose is lively and fruity with notes of tobacco, rosemary, forest floor overtones and overt gamey characteristics. The palate is medium bodied, fairly well-balanced despite the 14% alcohol and drinking quite well upon opening but still with ample amounts of grippy tannins which tells me that this will keep for at least the midterm. This Gigondas is dominate by matured red fruits, followed by notes of wet leaves, dried herbs, tobacco box, boiled meat, wet fur and a herbaceous finish. A very well made and lovely Southern Rhone wine.

June 22, 2020 - This is drinking beautifully, especially with a 2-hour decant. Meaty, earthy, and feral nose shows red fruit, sandalwood, and pastille. Freshness and structure abound on the palate. Black raspberry, blood orange, and Sichuan peppercorn flavors are accented by wet soil, black tea tannin, and a bevy of spices that linger beautifully on the long finish. It will only get better in the next 5 years.

December 30, 2017 - Enjoyed with grilled prime rib roast after 3 hour decant. Nicely balanced but still a bit young. Good QPR. May buy a couple more and hold 2-4 years.

November 5, 2017 - Musty, out of balance. Very acidic, flat with acetaldehyde in it. Sad.
