April 15, 2023 - Oh yeah. Another spectacular nose on a Duroche 2012. Intoxicating. High tones. Refined. Red fruits. Dark cherry. Floral.
Elegant and light on the palate. Red fruits. Sour fruits. Cherry. Brambles.
More complexity than the already delicious straight gevrey village. This has been drinking great for multiple years, but certainly benefitted from some age.

November 5, 2022 - This seems to have settled a bit since my last bottle just over a year ago.
Knockout nose of earth, spice, and a lovely floral element. Dark black cherry fruit, a lick of oak.
Notably rich and hedonistic on the palate, more of that black fruit and oak, impeccable balance though with fresh acidity and fine tannins almost imperceptible behind the rich fruit extract, which is by no means excessive.
A superb expression of the vintage and just delicious.

September 24, 2021 - Aromatic nose of earth and minerals. Serious perfume, like the Rousseau that preceded it, but with a bit more in the tank. Mid -palate density and tension. This wine is not ready - acidity and tannins are angular - but it’s balanced the perfume is just fabulous and all the elements are there

August 22, 2019 - Fresh fruited and starting to come into the partially developed phase. Delightful and perfect to drink right now. Textbook Gevrey village wine. Red fruits, elegance, intensity and concentration on both the nose and palate. Floral notes, umami and forest floor. Wonderful wine.

    Very precise, clean, pure
Lots of power but without weight.
    Hint of spice. Perhaps clove?
Rose pedal on nose. Black currant and dark red fruits.
So much to enjoy about this wine. Quintessential Duroche for me. These wines just work so well for my palate.

    October 26, 2017 - Duroche Gevrey jeunes rois 2012

Classic velvet fist in iron glove. Real purity and weightlessness on the palate. Real elegance. But with real Gevrey power. Deep cherry flavours, wild strawberry. A hint of brambles. Something slightly savoury.
    Long on the finish.
Another example of how well duroche did in 2012.

I would say this is quintessential duroche. Super pure and elegant on the nose.
Lovely fruit on display. Strawberries and cherries. Touch of savouriness on the finish.
Weightless but not lacking complexity. Silly smoothe tannins.
Quality showing and very representative of the domaine style.

January 25, 2017 - Attractive nose of violets, spice, cherries. Silky palate of red-fruits, with so much purity. So un-Gevrey'ish. It was only after some time that its Gevrey character showed - earth, structure. I suppose this is what I like so much about the "Duroche-signature"!

August 9, 2015 - The wine had a very enticing perfume of sweet fruits, flowers, cherries and spices. The mouthfeel was pretty silky and elegant but the wine is still very big and tannic so some time in the cellar might be good it. If consuming now, some aeration would do the wine better justice.
