July 20, 2020 - Meh - good, but nothing too special. Chiseled, stony, lemony, slightly grassy. Some speak of a likeness to Roulot but we certainly didn’t see any.

April 29, 2020 - The 2012 Bernard Moreau Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Grandes Ruchottes showed a lower acidity profile and slightly higher alcohol than the 2013 next to it. Fresh pineapples and ripe lemon with creamy reductive note on the mid-palate. Impressive minerality and richness on the palate, knocking on Grand Cru doors. (85/100)

April 25, 2020 - In 12/13/14 vertical. Full, intense and appealing spice- and mineral-filled nose. The palate is bright and lively with good rich fruit. The balance is perfect. A wine of concentration, precision and cut. In harmony and my favorite of the vertical for right now.

April 25, 2020 - Domaine Bernard Moreau Virtual Tasting with Alex and Martine Moreau (Planet Earth): In sensational 12/13/14 vertical, each getting a few hours of air before tasting. Apple and baked apple with both sweet and savory spice. Starts out rich and mostly ripe, but finishes with a long, bright, nearly tart finish. Very good now, still possibly further upside.

March 1, 2020 - Chassagne, Red Label and Chave (S.K.Y.): Intense minerality in the nose. This is rich with fat with loads of dense, concentrated fruit. Pure and bright. Still a bit primary and I think a few years of cellar time will add nuance, but so enjoyable already.

March 1, 2020 - Chassagne Grandes-Ruchottes Dinner with Some Giacosa and Chave (S.K.Y. Restaurant - Chicago IL): Apple and baked apple with good weight , better balance, and sneaky structure, especially for the vintage. The rare 2012 with upside from here.

November 9, 2019 - 45th Birthday Celebration (Chez Nanda): Side-by-side with the Batard, which is showing early signs of oxidation. The Grandes Ruchottes was much more fresh with near Grand Cru depth. Delicious.

November 9, 2019 - "You only turn 45 once" (Chicago, IL): Had this next to the Bâtard, which was unfortunately showing slightly advanced. Fortunately, this bottle wasn't -- it was so crisp, with just the right balance of oak on the nose and palate. The fruit was ripe but not overdone, and there was a lovely mineral vein throughout. Really love these Moreau wines...
