March 23, 2024 - Still fresh & youthful. Perfect. Great fill. Still peaking.
Bramble, nicely, fresh fruits of; blackberries, creamy, black raspberries, black plum, plum, dark cherries, hints of blueberries, poached to dry strawberries. Lead pencil for days, dry tobacco, used leather, liquid herbaceous notes, volcanic & limestone marl & grey clay, eucalyptus/pine tar, black licorice, dark spice, touch of black pepper, mushroom, light baking spices, dry top soil, dry river stone, dry stem, well done toast, dry & withering; dark, red, some blue florals framed in lavender & violets, perfect acidity and extremely well; balanced, structured, tensioned, balanced, smarty polished finish that last several minutes finish. WOTN!
It’s just the left side of the bell curve. Stored correctly it has another 10 plus years of good drinking.
Robert Parker launched his career calling this vintage correctly upon release when others were not. -

December 2, 2023 - Cigar box, pencil lead. Still in it’s prime. Amazing wine. Paired with ribeye and filet mignon

December 10, 2022 - Youthful and powerful. More monolithic than tbe gran vin and closer to maturity but still a long way to go I would think. Blackcurrant and tobacco dominate. Deelish. Some tasters thought the bottle was a bit bretty, but I didn’t pick up on it myself.

May 8, 2020 - Deep ruby colour as opposed to my expected garnet.
On the nose, liquorice, cassis, savoury and slightly gamey. We let it breathe in the bottle for an hour, palate was similar to nose and packed with power, more blackcurrant and cassis than leather and tobacco.
A rather bold wine and drinking very well at the moment, however, I personally think it was lacking some finesse.
Traditional Pauillac, drink now.1 person found this helpful Comment -
