February 23, 2020 - Monthly Tasting Group: Northern Rhones (Lela, Bloomington MN): Small taste. Neat nose, funky, aromatic, horse, dark fruits, citrus peel, leather. The palate is grainy, earthy, dark cherry, dark fruits, leather, good acid, a little firm. Youthful. 91 to 92pt potential.

September 20, 2019 - Wow! Everything I desire in Côte-Rôtie . Smokey, meaty, so delicious. Lovely tannins, delicious red fruits so enjoyable. Old world Syrah, made in the traditional style. Enjoyed a great tasting with Christophe Billon, fond memories envelop me as I drink this wonderful wine.

May 8, 2019 - Showing smoky/meaty northern Rhone savory aromatics upon opening, that impression recedes after this gets some air. At that point there's a cool red fruit. A little astringent on the finish, I don't know if that's wood tannins showing or it's just young. I'd recommend letting this sleep for a few years.

May 26, 2016 - A very textbook example of a particular kind of Cote-Rotie - rich, grippy red fruit with tons of bacon. Not the more backwards, brambly, whole clustery style, just slutty syrah savoriness.

April 17, 2015 - This initially came across as a nice, medium-bodied syrah showing purity of fruit but not yet much of a savory personality. I found it somewhat like a more concentrated Cedric Parpette - and like those wines, blind I would not have been in Cote-Rotie. With very little time in the glass it unfortunately closed down becoming blocky and impenetrable. I think I hit this up too early.
