March 1, 2020 - Fantastic grenache! Definitely something to keep in stock
August 1, 2015 - Rich, earthy and well-balanced, really enjoyed this first venture into Vacqueyras.
April 24, 2015 - A bit rough around the edges. Earthy but maybe too rustic
February 27, 2015 - Medium body, good balance -- fruit enough for the alcohol, and acid to age a few more years.
August 9, 2014 - I agree with Mike Kopanski's note but my bottle (the last one at my local shop unfortunately) was fully open. Really nice surprise for $17. It oddly has rusticity and elegance at the same time, I'm not quite sure how to articulate it. More rustic in the nose and elegant on the palate. At any rate, lots of bright fruit, solid tannins, very pure tasting i.e. no obvious manipulation. Great stuff. I think it would have lasted several more years, and perhaps improved.
April 13, 2014 - Rustic and food friendly. The nose starts with dusty, dry garrigue, and moves on to rough fruit. Similar in the mouth with the fruit surfacing through the rough tannins and earthy herbs. A good finish with reverberating fruit. Very pleasant experience, if you like rustic wines that pair with hearty meals, and don't mind that a brash and somewhat uncoordinated delivery.
January 26, 2014 - I can understand how many would consider this a 90+ point wine. We had an ounce or two taste, then decided to purchase and try a bottle. To my palate, this wine is still young and very rustic. The fruit is struggling to escape out from under some considerable tannin and other structural components. It was aged in concrete vats, which create an entirely different wine from one aged in new or old barrels. The color is very dark red. The nose has roses with red and black fruit. Medium plus bodied. Lots of tannin hits the lips and palate, and deters the fruit from emerging. Big swirling barely helps. There is quite a bit of concentration and this is a very serious wine with some considerable life expectancy left.
